여행의 시작 [이유현 + Shin's]
물건이 생산되어 쓰임을 다하고 버려져,
재활용되고순환되
여행과 같다고 생각했습니다
여행에서 제일 두근거리고 행복한 순간은 떠나기 전!
그 설레이는 여행의 시작을 물건의 여정이 다시 시작될
떠나기 전 떨려서 눈만 깜빡이며 잠 못 들던 기억,
혹
우리가 여행을
우리만의 방식으로
분리수거가 된 물건들이 다시 어디서 어떤 모습과 쓰임으로
우리들과 만나게 될지 기대되지 않나요!
두 작가가 각자의 다른 여행길을 보여주는 듯해 보여도
네 개의 수거함이 다 모였을 때 그 여정이 혼자만의 것이 아님을,
결국 같이 걸어가는 하나의 길이 된다는 것을 보여주고싶습니다.
각자 출발이 달라도 결국 우린 지구를 위해 함께노력해야하니까요.
Beginning the Journey

The cycle an item goes through - production, in use, disposal and recycle is like a long journey.
When an item enters garbage bin, it is not its end, but beginning of a journey.
We wanted to reflect the mixed feelings one gets in the beginning of a journey on to the recycling bins.
All the feelings and thoughts on a journey are expressed in our own languages.
Isn't it exciting to follow the journey of the recycled items and imagine how we would come across them again?
Although the two artists seem to each show her own story,
it becomes obvious that the journey is not of one person, but of all of us.
After all, we all live and travel on one planet.

일반쓰레기_여행의 시작 (땅 속)
일반쓰레기는 땅 속에 묻혀지곤 합니다.
솔직히 분리수거만 철저하게 잘 하면 일반쓰레기가 많진 않을 것
같습니다.
분리수거를 통해 땅 속 뿌리, 예쁜 지층과 곤충 등의
생활터전을 지킬 수 있다 생각해보세요. 뿌듯하지 않나요?

Beginning The Journey (Underground)
Municipal refuse tends to be buried underground.
After going through the types of rubbish classified as municipal refuse,
it seems as though there would not be much to throw out if it is separated properly for recycling.
I thought it is rather heart-warming to think to care for
plants, exquisite strata, underground habitat of many insect species and animals through proper recycling.

편리함을 주는 플라스틱이 우리와 어떻게 만났다 떠나는지를
생각하고자 합니다.

A variety of plastics allowed convenience in our lives
just like the accelerating mobility of the contemporary society.
Pavements, automobiles, train, submarine, airplane, etc.
I thought of how the convenient plastics intersect with our locomotive lives.
